The long dredging project in Allen Harbor is finally complete. Captain Ted Augustine reported that the recent survey came back “all 7’s” which means the harbor now has 7’ of water at low tide.
On Friday Ren, Craig and the employees of Allen Harbor Marine Service put on a finishing off luncheon for the dredge Captain and the Crew. We presented the Skipper and his crew with embroidered sweatshirts with a sew out of the dredge and the project information. Additionally Captain Ted was presented with an autographed copy of Bill Quinn’s book titled Shipwrecks Around Cape Cod.
The whole crew of the dredge have been excellent to work with over the past 6 months and have kept a smile on their face as they faced various delays and hardships.
After lunch all the Allen Harbor Marine Service employees got a first-hand tour of the dredge and learned a lot of what this enormous piece of equipment can do.
Next step for us is to have the Robert B. Our Company come on scene to begin driving pilings and putting out docks and slips back in place. This is expected about March 15th. We will be up and ready to launch come the 1st of April with no worries of getting in and out of the harbor with the tide.
